We Provide therapy on purpose

On Purpose Occupational Therapy, Psychosocial disability assistance, NDIS access assessments

Who we support

On Purpose Therapy support people living aged 17 and above with a range of disability types. We strive to be person centred by acknowledging each person is the expert with their disability. This allows us to understand how your disability affects you personally. We do not claim to be the expert of your disability although we do commit to ongoing professional development to keep up to date with the latest changes in evidence based practice (including literature) to understand common features and impacts of many conditions. We strive to provide services in line with a neuroaffirming approach. We have experience supporting people with a wide range of diagnoses, including but not limited to:

  • Neurodevelopmental disability (including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
  • Intellectual disability
  • Psychosocial disability (including Borderline Personality Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, Bipolar, Depression and Anxiety)
  • Neurological conditions (including Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinsons Disease, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease, Muscular Dystrophy)
  • Sensory (Vision and Hearing Impairments, Sensory Processing Differences).

What are our limitations?

On Purpose Therapy is passionate that all people with a disability receive high quality, evidence-based therapy. We recognise our strengths and weaknesses which means there are some people we are unable support as it does not fall within our skill set and scope of practice. This includes:

  • Children aged 0-16
  • Complex/structural home modifications
  • OT driving assessments
  • Other funding schemes e.g DVA, My Aged Care

On Purpose Therapy acknowledges the Traditional Owners of our land and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.
