April O'Neill

Director and Occupational Therapist

April graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honors) in 2015 from the University of Newcastle, Australia. While studying, April was a support working for children and adults living with a disability since the rollout of the NDIS in 2013. This is where April found her passion of becoming an Occupational Therapist focusing in the disability sector.

April grew up in Wauchope, NSW and spent her adult life moving between Newcastle (NSW), Sydney (NSW) then Gold Coast (QLD). This has allowed developing a varied experience of how the sector operates in different regions.

April has now decided to move back to her hometown to be closer to her loved ones. She has manifested her version of a good life, and her dreams have turned into plans with the opening of On Purpose Therapy.

April has worked in reputable large allied health organisations over the past several years, within senior leadership and management roles. April acts with a sense of curiosity and is committed to self-directed learning, which has granted her experience in many areas of Occupational Therapy practice including skill development and capacity building, functional capacity assessments, home and living assessments, assistive technology and assistance animals.

April is proficient at keeping up to date with the latest NDIS and sector news / updates.

Eden (Melbourne)

Occupational Therapist and Clinical Lead

Eden graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Deakin University in Geelong, Australia, in 2021. After completing Year 12, Eden knew she wanted a career centred on supporting people to reach their full potential. Her key areas of interest include neurodivergence, psychosocial support, and mental health.

A proud Aboriginal woman, Eden was born on Country (Wamba Wamba) in Swan Hill and grew up in Bendigo, Victoria. She relocated to Geelong to pursue her studies and, upon graduating, moved to the Gold Coast to begin her career before settling in Melbourne. Eden has worked within the NDIS space for several years and is also employed with the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service, both areas of practice that are deeply meaningful to her.

Eden is known for her personable approach and for creating a safe, supportive environment where participants feel heard and empowered. She works holistically, considering the individual within the context of their life, and focuses on building strong foundations to support goal achievement and meaningful living.

Eden is committed to ongoing learning and professional development, reflecting her dedication to delivering high-quality care.

Charlotte

Occupational Therapist

Charlotte is a new graduate Occupational Therapist who studied at Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie. A Port Macquarie/Wauchope local, she grew up on a farm in Kindee, which shaped her appreciation for community, nature, and a practical, down-to-earth approach to supporting others.

Charlotte’s interest in working in the disability sector began during high school, when she first learned about the role of Occupational Therapy and felt drawn to a helping profession. Prior to graduating from university, she worked as a support worker for over four years, supporting adults and children with diverse needs across a range of settings, which strengthened her understanding of day-to-day supports and the NDIS.

Charlotte is known for her kind, respectful nature and her ability to adapt her approach to suit each person and environment. She enjoys working collaboratively to support meaningful goals through flexible, creative, and client-centred therapy.

Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, exercising, and being creative.

She is committed to ongoing learning and is grateful to be starting her Occupational Therapy career with On Purpose Therapy.

Teya

Occupational Therapist

Teya graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2025 from Charles Sturt University. While studying, she worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and disability support worker, developing a strong appreciation for collaborative, person-centred and community-based practice.

During her university placements, Teya valued the opportunity to work with people with a diverse range of conditions, disabilities, and backgrounds across a variety of settings. These experiences strengthened her interest in holistic occupational therapy and supporting individuals to engage meaningfully in their everyday lives. She looks forward to transitioning this learning into her work with adults.

Originally from regional New South Wales, Teya has lived across Australia and internationally before returning to settle in Port Macquarie.

She brings a warm, reflective, and strengths-based approach to her practice, values strong therapeutic relationships, and is committed to ongoing learning and supporting people to live lives that align with what matters most to them.
